Job Description:

The Translation Designer will directly support the Marketing and Product teams by managing the translation design of all Core Strengths products from our international language partners. Projects will entail both paper and digital products. This role is primarily about building out existing designs, and formatting into multiple languages.

As a creative, you are fulfilled in the constant balance between your left and right brain roles. You are creative but orderly in your thinking. You are methodical, organized, able to maintain version control, and have clean file structure habits. But you also have a sense of wonder as you bring ideas to life through design.

Responsibilities: 

  • Take over priorities from current Project Manager to understand priorities, set goals, and achieve translation milestones
  • Collaborate with others to fully understand problems and possible solutions
  • Solicit feedback from other designers to elevate the work and ensure consistency
  • Provide design support to the Creative Director when needed
  • Support the Product Development Team with editing needs, printing needs, preparing materials, etc.
  • Support product launches
  • Output print files
  • Transfer existing translation assets into Google Spreadsheetst 
  • Create low and high resolution PDFs for Distributor review 
  • Manage and organize e-mail documents as shuffled back and forth during the editing process
  • Manage and organize Product Development folders and files with appropriate naming convention within Dropbox
  • Oversee the Distributor Translation Tracking document:  This includes uploading high resolution final print ready files for distributors (password protected), managing any changes to the translation Word documents
  • Meet projected deadlines for translation completion
  • Communicate directly with translation vendors as needed and answer general inquiries
  • Transfer translation Word documents to InDesign Documents
  • Create low and high resolution PDFs for Distributor review
  • Create graphics and designs for social media
  • Collaborate with the team on marketing collateral updates as needed; flyers,  brochures, website

Job Requirements:

  • Great attitude
  • Strong project management skills
  • Extremely organized and methodical – must love spreadsheets and be obsessed with clean file structure
  • Communication skills
  • Expertise in Indesign, and fluent in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Be able to own translation changes and version control
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking
  • Experience with production design
  • Expertise with Google docs (documents and gmail) is mandatory
  • Expertise with Google Spreadsheets (familiarity with using formulas, filtering) is preferred
  • Strong Organizational/ Communication skills
